About the Department
Under general supervision of the Corrections Business Manager, the Human Resources Associate will work closely with the Division of Administrative Services to analyze information and determine appropriate procedures within law, rule, and policy in the administration of various human resources functions. Performs a critical role in the facility, being responsible for all hiring duties and maintaining personnel records/files for employees, maintaining several logs for the agency. Responsible for maintaining a full staff in all areas of recruitment, employee relations, benefits, payroll, timekeeping, personnel records, employment, and classification. This position will assist applicants in hiring with DOP and administer the CSI test for all new correctional officer applicants, correctional officer testing, and background checks, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to completing, processing, and maintaining all forms, reports, files concerning Human Resources work in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, benefits, payroll, timekeeping, personnel records, employment, and classification. Duties to include overseeing all aspects of payroll to ensure all time and leave is accurate; preparing disciplinary and adverse action correspondence; processing FMLA; oversee workers’ compensation claims; initiate processing for all leave of absences; will utilize state operating systems such as UKG, NeoGov, and OASIS; serves as one of the EEO counselors for the facility.
The applicant must have excellent communication skills and the ability to organize and prioritize assignments. Must have the ability to independently carry out assignments of a complex and confidential nature. Knowledge of federal, state, and department laws, policies, and rules including Division of Personnel rules, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of organizational structure and chain of command. Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
