Job Description

JOB TITLEDriver / Monitor

CLASSIFICATION: Part Time, Non-Exempt

PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT:  Transportation Department

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Manager of Fleet and Transportation

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible to safely transport or monitor people we serve (PWS) to various programs in a timely manner.  Completion of all vehicle logs as required by procedure.  Communicate with passengers and family members in a professional courteous manner.  Completed safety checks and corresponding paperwork, communicates vehicle safety and related needs. Monitors and assists PWS with entering and exiting, secures wheelchairs and other assistive devises inside the vehicle. Monitors PWS to ensure safe environment during transportation. Gas vehicles as necessary.  Complete all required paperwork.  Communicate vehicle concerns in order to quickly and safely get resolved.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education, Training & Experience:
Valid NYS driver’s license. 

Three (3) years driving experience.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Valid New York State driver’s license that meets the Agency’s driving policy

Ability to effectively communicate in a courteous and professional manner.

Ability to professionally represent oneself and Agency to staff and community.

Ability and willingness to participate in and maintain all required training.

 

SALARY:

$19.08 per hour starting rate
