Job Description

The Receiving Lead (Distribution Center) is responsible for the proper processing and disposition of all inbound Purchase Orders (PO) and inbound Transfer Orders (TO) including maintaining 99%+ accurate inventory for all received items. The Receiving Lead (Distribution Center) owns the physical and systemic receiving process, resolving any variances or damages (OS&D), and the proper put-away of all inventory. The Receiving Lead (Distribution Center) reports to the Ops Manager but is responsible for coordinating all receiving and put-away activities with the shift supervisors. The Receiving Lead (Distribution Center) must complete D365 technical training and be fluent in all D365 activities and reports.  They must also be capable of completing other core warehouse activities including counting, picking, and loading.

Compensation Information:
$22.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Register, verify, receive, and put away all inbound Purchase Orders or other shipments on the day they are received (shipments can include inbound vendor freight such as XGS, L.T.L orders, and reverse logistics from the satellites).
  • Monitor and successfully manage the D365 components of receiving:
    • PO work is completed in the appropriate workspace or RF device menu item.
    • Inbound bin is cleared daily (either by the DCRL personally, or under their direct supervision).
    • OS&D documentation is completed, submitted timely and correctly for all inbound shipments, and is permanently documented
    • All inbound inventory is verified to be put away in the correct bin location (as confirmed through the  On-hand list or RF device query).
  • Correctly create and process all steps of NEDC transfers, and then verify they have been successfully completed.
  • Responsible for the proper filing and maintenance of all paperwork, ensuring that all PO-related forms/documents are available immediately upon request.
  • Owns the resolution of any PO-related questions or issues (including those with vendors, as well as internal Empire personnel).
  • Is an active participant in Ops Manager monthly service calls with the market leadership teams to address any concerns with IW return trucks.
  • Takes direction from the Shift Supervisor during peak work periods, and assists with normal warehouse activities as needed (Loading, Cycle counting, Replenishment, etc.).
  • Adheres to all posted Federal and State requirements, and all Company safety and operational policies and SOPs.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Management preferred
  • Computer skills (D365, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook,)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task; strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently; and ability to set priorities, solve problems, and meet deadlines
  • Self-starter, action-oriented, problem-resolution-focused approach and personality
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends if necessary
  • Ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift, and other equipment as necessary
  • This position is working in the warehouse and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Associate will spend time working on a computer which requires using a keyboard to enter data and send and respond to emails
  • The position requires the ability to use an RF device to input and receive data
  • This position requires the ability to use a phone and write with a pen or pencil
  • The ability to perform the essential functions of the position physically and mentally, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • The ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Operate a forklift and move product with equipment or manually
