Summer School Teacher Grades 9-12
 

The Vernon Summer Learning Program is a 4-day-per-week program that runs through the first 5 weeks of summer (June 29 - July 30, Monday through Thursday). The proposed program hours for students are 7:30-11:00 a.m.  The proposed program hours for the teachers are 7:00 - 11:30 a.m.  We are looking for teachers who are interested in working for the high school summer school program, which will be held at Center Road School this summer.  Currently, we are projected to run the following programs for the Summer School Learning:  EdGenuity/Credit Recovery Program, an In-Person Credit Recovery Program for students in grades 9 and 10, and an Extended School Year (ESY) program.  Edgenuity is an online-based program that allows students to recover credit.  The In-Person Credit Recovery Program will target the following content areas:  

English - English 9, English 10
Mathematics - Algebra 1, Geometry 
Science - Biology, Chemistry
Social Studies - World History, US History
Physical Education & Health - Health & Wellness, Team Sports
World Language - Spanish I & II

Teachers will be required to design content-specific lesson plans and deliver instruction to support the specific needs of students. The summer school compensation per contract for certified teachers is Hourly Rate: $32.88/hr June 29 - 30, 2026    Then, $33.54/hr July 1-30, 2026
