Source Inspector needed in Weihai, Shandong China
Job Description:
The quality inspector shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies. Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications. The inspector will be required to report inspection accept / reject information directly to the customer via web application.
Requirements:
Candidate must have practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies. The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard. Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs).
Comfortable working as an independent contractor.

Source Inspection Activities:
- Perform visual and dimensional inspection of plastic, electronic and mechanical hardware components using appropriate hand measurement equipment
- Conduct verification against approved drawings, specifications, control plans and inspection criteria
- Review manufacturing documentation for completeness and compliance (e.g. Certificates of Conformity, material certificates, inspection records, routers)
- Perform basic functional checks or hardness testing where required
- Identify and document non-conformances, including preparation of inspection reports and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as applicable
- Communicate inspection results to the customer in a timely manner and update relevant customer systems
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working within a quality-critical manufacturing or engineering environment
- Demonstrated experience in performing source inspection, in-process inspection, or final product verification activities
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials and inspection criteria
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles
- Experience inspecting plastic moulded components, electronic assemblies and mechanical hardware
- Familiarity with inspection tools and measurement equipment relevant to the product type (e.g. callipers, micrometers, gauges, multimeters, functional test equipment, CMM data where applicable)
- Ability to clearly document inspection results, non-conformities and objective evidence
