Job Description

Title: CEAHS Student Ambassador

Driver Classification: Non-Driver


FLSA: Non-Exempt


Schedule Type:  Part Time, No Benefits (less than 20 hrs per week)


Hours Per Week: Up to 20 hours per week


Additional Schedule Details: Office Hours Monday - Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. with some Saturday commitments expected. Primary work will happen between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Must be available 10:30am - 2:00pm on Wednesdays.


Posted Salary Grade: $10.00 per hour

Job Summary/Basic Functions


The College of Education and Applied Human Sciences (CEAHS) Student Ambassadors are responsible for assisting in the creation of a welcoming, positive, and impactful college visit experience within the College of Education and Applied Human Sciences at Eastern Kentucky University. Working primarily with prospective students, families, and guests, the ambassador role is crucial to informing of the academic programs we offer, providing a student perspective of the academic experience, and providing an environment where inquiry is met with informed perspectives. The ambassador position requires consistent reliability, high caliber interpersonal skills, and a desire to work with the public on a regular basis. The ambassador position is responsible for the following:
● Leading tours of prospective students, families, and/or high school students to show CEAHS academic buildings and spaces where our students thrive in their major
● Participate in in-person events which include but are not limited to: Spotlight days (Fall semester), Junior Days (Spring semester), Admitted Student Tours, Maroon Madness visits, and other in-person or virtual events hosted by the EKU CEAHS or Office of Admissions
● Attend and participate in required meetings and training as outlined by the CEAHS faculty/staff and/or the Office of Admissions.
● Other duties as assigned which relate to assisting prospective students, families, guests, inquiries, and applicants. This may include assisting with the management of social media accounts or occasionally taking pictures at events.

This position is for the 2026-27 school year that begins in August.






Minimum Qualifications


● Maintain 3.0 GPA or higher
● Major within the College of Education and Applied Human Sciences
● Remain in good standing with the University in all realms






Job Duties:



  • 30% - Leading tours of prospective students, families, and/or high school students to show CEAHS academic buildings and spaces where our students thrive in their major. - (Essential)
