The Marin County Free Library (MCFL) is a special taxing district that operates ten branch libraries in Marin under the authority of the Board of Supervisors. It provides public library services to the residents of the unincorporated areas of the County and the cities of Corte Madera, Fairfax and Novato.

Position Duties
WebStars is a paid youth internship program in Marin County. Founded in 1999 at the Marin City Library, the program now provides hands-on training and work experience at three locations, South Novato, West Marin and Marin City.
Marin City Library
WebStars at the Marin City Library are responsible for:
- Helping patrons at the computers in the library
- Teaching classes
- Helping with various library related tasks
- Virtual Reality demonstrations
- Learning The Lab equipment
- Helping local organizations with technology needs
West Marin Location
Point Reyes Interns will work with library staff and patrons in and outside of our library providing a mix of library-related services.
- Shelving books
- Making book displays
- Helping with technology
- Learning about library services to help communicate with the public
- Supporting with outreach and programming

Minimum Qualifications
Our Highly Qualified Candidate:
- Maintains High School enrollment for the duration of the internship
- Has reliable transportation to their assigned work location
- Is responsible, mature and motivated to learn
- Is interested in working directly with the public
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be enrolled in a high school academic or vocational curriculum or be within one year of having graduated.
Applicants under 18 years of age must secure a work permit from their high school district before being employed.

Disaster Service Workers: All County of Marin employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
