Description
We’re looking for a motivated Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting the production of agricultural equipment. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to improve processes, contribute to design and efficiency projects, and help solve real-world production challenges. This internship offers valuable exposure to manufacturing operations, cross-functional teamwork, and continuous improvement initiatives—providing a strong foundation for a future career in engineering.
Requirements
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Assist in analyzing and improving manufacturing processes for metal fabrication, welding, and assembly of agricultural machinery components.
· Support the design, documentation, and implementation of jigs, fixtures, and tooling using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks or AutoCAD) to enhance production efficiency.
· Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to identify waste, reduce cycle times, and improve workflow on the shop floor.
· Collect data, perform time studies, and help develop work instructions or standard operating procedures for production teams.
· Collaborate with engineers and production staff to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, support quality control, and ensure product specifications are met.
· Contribute to continuous improvement projects, including process documentation updates and cost-reduction efforts for components and assemblies.
· Shadow experienced engineers during new product introductions or equipment setups and present findings or recommendations at the conclusion of the internship.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly metal fabrication, welding, and assembly.
· Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
· Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to collect and interpret production data and perform time studies.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented production environment.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Education and Experience:
· Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
· Prior internship, coursework, or project experience in manufacturing or production environments preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to work in a manufacturing/shop floor environment.
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
· Ability to occasionally lift up to 25–40 pounds.
Schedule:
Mon - Thurs 6:00am - 4:30pm

April 2026 - September 2026 (exact dates depending on school schedule)
