We currently have an opening for a casual RN. This position reports to the Director of Home Care and Medical Equipment.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio.
- Current Ohio Driver’s License and current car insurance required
- BSN preferred.
- CPR/BLS within 90 days of hire.
- Three years of acute care (medical surgical and/or critical care) or related nursing care experience preferred.
- Prior Home Care experience preferred.
- Prior experience with the OASIS documentation preferred.
- ICD-10 experience preferred.
- Prior wound/ostomy, wound VAC experience preferred.

- Demonstrates effective communication skills in coordinating patient care with physicians, co-workers, patients, families and outside agencies.
- Requires strong clinical skills in assessment and delivery of care for patients of all ages in various home care settings.
- Demonstrates and maintains competence in a wide variety of clinical skills required for home care including providing on-call coverage for Home Care and Medical Equipment.
- Requires strong leadership and organizational skills along with an ability to think critically including interpretation, analysis, and evaluation of patient care situations.
- Demonstrates/uses effective problem solving skills in carrying out role responsibilities.
- Demonstrates confidence in working independently.
- Demonstrates ability to exercise good judgment and successfully manage a variety/multi tasks.
- Demonstrates positive service oriented written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates effective communication with individuals of all ages and developmental levels.
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively handle conflict.
- Candidate may be exposed to various home environments that may include animals and smoke.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move over 50 pounds.
- Computer skills required to document in electronic health records.
- Will be required to learn Medicare/Medicaid and Joint Commission compliance regulations related to Home Care.
- Provide direct skilled nursing services to a variety of patients of all age groups.
- Evaluate and determine client’s plans of care by coordinating with Manager.
- Promote continuity of client care and be a resource for agency staff, physicians and caregivers(s).
- Participate on committees, task forces and special projects as needed.
- Demonstrate ability to learn about and instruct patients on how to use various DME items/coordinate DME services for patients.
