CUSD 303 is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a full time ELEM School Social Worker at Fox Ridge Elementary for the 2026-27 SY.

Required: PEL with Social Work endorsement required.

Job Title: School Social Worker Wage/Hour Status: 10-month
Reports to: Student Service
Department/Building Principal Pay Grade: SCEA-Certified

Primary Purpose:
The School Social Worker develops intervention strategies to increase academic success,
assists with conflict resolution and anger management, and helps students develop
appropriate social interaction skills. This is accomplished either through direct support or
indirect interventions with the student while working in collaboration with teachers,
administrators, and families.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Certification:
● Illinois Professional Educator’s License (PEL)
● School Social Work endorsement required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
● Experience working in a school setting
● Experience in providing individual and group social work
● Experience in the development of FBAs/BIPs
● Strong ability to empathize
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
● Provide direct social work services to students through individual and group meetings
● 504 case management
● Plan and provide support services to meet the needs of students at all tiers
● Develop and implement IEP goals and services aligned with student needs and maintain
up-to-date, accurate logs of services provided
● Consult with IEP team members regarding behavior management, learning concerns, and
program delivery
● Develop, with the Student Support Team, evidence-based intervention plans for students
with unique needs that include modification of the learning environment, curriculum
adaptations, direct student support, and/or behavior management
● Participate in the re-integration process for students returning from hospital, treatment,
and other programs
● Consult with students, parents, and staff on strategies that can be utilized at home and at
school to assist the student in reaching their full potential
● Facilitate the effective utilization of existing community resources to meet that needs of the
school
● Collaborate with colleagues, students, community members, and/or parents on a regular
basis, and as requested by the administration

● Provide School Social Work services across the school setting; meeting classroom needs,
small groups and individual students experiences academic, social, emotional, or
behavioral challenges
● Participate on curriculum, personnel, policy, or professional development committees
related to the educational program
● Respond to student crisis as needed
Professional Growth and Development
● Participate in professional development activities in order to maintain and grow expertise
relative to current knowledge of the field through attendance at professional conference,
readings, membership in professional organizations, and District professional learning.
● Meet and maintain state requirements for certification or licensure

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and
peripherals.
Posture: Frequent sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing, pulling, and
twisting.
Vision: Abilities required of this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Motion: Frequent movement throughout the work environment. Repetitive hand motions;
frequent keyboarding, use of mouse, and occasional reaching.
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying less than 20 pounds
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Have the ability to solve complex problems in situations where only
limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions provided through written and
oral form. Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under
stress.
