Internal Medicine - Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA)

Specialty: Internal Medicine (Adult Primary Care)
M-F 9A-5P - will vary with Saturday rotation

Practice Overview

The practice is a well-established, physician-led internal medicine group in East Hills, NY, comprised of six experienced internists: Dr. Barricelli, Dr. Berland, Dr. Brountzas, Dr. Jane F. Serio, Dr. Guy, and Dr. Frasca.

The group provides comprehensive adult primary care with a strong reputation for high-quality, patient-centered medicine and long-standing community relationships.

Collectively, the practice manages a broad spectrum of adult medical conditions, with particular expertise in chronic disease management, preventive care, obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular risk reduction.

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join a busy, well-established internal medicine group practice. The APP will work collaboratively as part of a six-physician team, providing high-quality, patient-centered care within a supportive and collegial clinical environment.

This position is ideal for an APP who values continuity of care, collaborative physician partnership, and building long-term relationships with adult patients in a supportive, team-based environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to adult patients under physician collaboration
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Manage chronic disease states including diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and cardiovascular risk factors
  • Perform preventive care visits, annual wellness exams, and Medicare wellness visits
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and labs
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with New York State regulations
  • Educate patients on disease management, lifestyle modification, and preventive health
  • Document clinical encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Coordinate care with specialists, hospitals, and ancillary services as needed
  • Support quality initiatives and evidence-based care standards

Qualifications

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of New York (or eligible)
  • National board certification required
  • BLS/ACLS/DEA required 
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in internal medicine, primary care, or adult medicine preferred (new graduates with strong clinical rotations will be considered)
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Commitment to patient-centered, high-quality care
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a physician-led practice
