Description

Maplewood Academy (MWA), a co-educational secondary boarding school with a rich history dating back to 1888, is seeking an enthusiastic High School Math Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year and beyond. Maplewood Academy is committed to academic excellence and spiritual growth, providing students an environment where faith and learning are intentionally integrated.

Located in Hutchinson, Minnesota, Maplewood Academy offers a scenic small-town setting approximately one hour from the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Supported by the Minnesota Conference, MWA provides a Christ-centered boarding school experience that prepares students for college, career, and service.

The High School Math Teacher will organize and implement engaging instructional programs in standard secondary mathematics courses, including Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and other assigned math classes as well as Physics. The teacher will foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and a growth mindset. The position includes mentoring students and supporting their academic, spiritual, and personal development, as well as collaborating with colleagues to strengthen the overall school community.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related field with a secondary endorsement in mathematics. Candidates must hold or be eligible for a valid teaching certificate issued by the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. Successful applicants will demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, a servant-leader mindset, and a commitment to fostering both academic excellence and spiritual growth in students.
