We are looking for a Project Manager, located in Darmstadt, Germany to join our Services group within Project Excellence. In this role, you will lead Improvement and Field Services projects across the Pulp, Energy, and Circularity Services industries, working on projects ranging from the CEN region to global deliveries.
Your responsibilities
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering projects in line with contractual agreements while ensuring predictable financial results.
Your key responsibilities include:
Leading customer interactions and representing Valmet throughout the project
Managing and guiding the project organization and project teams
Preparing and maintaining project plans
Contract management and change management
Budget follow-up, cost estimation, and schedule management
Risk management and Internal & external reporting
A critical aspect of this role is acting as Valmet’s representative toward the customer, ensuring customer satisfaction and building long-term, trust-based relationships.
You will also play an important role during the sales phase, supporting deliverability assessments, ensuring contractual commitments are realistic from a project execution perspective, and enabling a smooth handover from Sales to Project execution.

Our expectations
To succeed in this role, you should have:
A strong technical background (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree)
Approximately 4-7 years of experience in project execution, gained through roles such as Project Management, Sales Management, Engineering, Site Management, or similar positions within the Pulp or Energy industry
A solid understanding of the Pulp and/or Energy industry
The ability to work independently with international, multi-location project teams
Strong decision-making and change management skills, with the courage to take the lead
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a multi-project environment
Proven communication and commercial negotiation skills
Experience working directly with customers
Willingness to travel across Europe and globally
Mandatory fluency in spoken and written English and German (additional languages are an asset)
