What You Will Do:

The Davenport Operator C is responsible for operating multi-spindle automatic screw machines to produce precision metal components in accordance with engineering drawings, quality standards, and safety requirements. This role works under close guidance from a Team Leader, Troubleshooter, or Trainer/Mentor and supports efficient, high-quality production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Operate assigned multi-spindle automatic screw machines to perform machining operations, including turning, facing, drilling, boring, reaming, tapping, threading, and forming.
  • Follow all safety policies, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Produce parts meeting print specifications and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret part drawings, machine manuals, and tool charts.
  • Inspect parts using gauges and measuring tools and make basic machine adjustments.
  • Assist with machine setups under supervision.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and take corrective action when required.
  • Communicate machine or quality issues promptly.
  • Maintain bar stock levels to prevent downtime.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Complete production, quality, and time documentation.
  • Collaborate with operators across shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
