Kindergarten Teacher

Location: St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic School – Houma
Reports To: Principal

Position Overview

St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic School is seeking a faith-filled and dynamic Kindergarten Teacher for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will build strong academic foundations while nurturing students spiritually, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily prayer and model Catholic values

  • Teach reading readiness, phonics, writing, math, religion, science, and social studies

  • Create a structured, engaging, and joyful classroom environment

  • Differentiate instruction to meet student needs

  • Monitor student growth and communicate with families

  • Maintain attendance, grades, and student records

  • Supervise students during assigned duties

  • Collaborate with faculty and administration

  • Attend meetings, liturgies, trainings, and school events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education required

  • Louisiana teaching certification preferred

  • Early childhood or kindergarten experience preferred

  • Strong instructional and classroom management skills

  • Commitment to Catholic mission and values

  • Background check and Safe Environment training required
