What You'll Do:

Responsible for performing functions related to the administrative and/or operating payrolls in a timely and accurate manner.



Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing an integrated client server HR/PR system, the responsibilities and duties include; time entry, verification of balances, creating and updating employee tax changes, verification of pay rates, review of system edits, and production and processing of assigned payrolls within established procedures and deadlines.
  • Provides high level of customer service to internal stakeholders and collaborate with team members and other departments as needed. 
  • Research and resolve payroll processing errors in a timely fashion.
  • This role is responsible for following new and existing payroll process and supporting the documentation of payroll processes as needed. 
  • Organize payroll processing records as directed for accessibility and record retention purposes.


Qualifications:

Education & Credentials:

High school diploma or equivalent, plus job related course work after high school.

Experience:

  • 1 - 2 years of general accounting and related financial experience.
  • 1 - 3 years of payroll experience utilizing a mainframe or client server-based system in an office environment strongly preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.

Customer Service Orientation: Provides a high level of customer service by responding to payroll inquiries, researching issues, and supporting timely and accurate resolution of payroll concerns.

Attention to Detail and Accuracy: Exhibits strong attention to detail and the ability to perform work accurately in a fast-paced, deadline-driven payroll environment, ensuring data integrity and compliance.

Organization and Time Management: Effectively prioritizes, organizes, and manages multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting established payroll processing deadlines.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrates the ability to gather, interpret, and use payroll data to identify discrepancies, research issues, and support appropriate resolutions.

Process Documentation and Continuous Improvement: Able to document existing and new payroll processes, including proofreading and editing documentation in various formats, to support consistency and operational efficiency.

Collaboration and Relationship Management: Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal partners across Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, and other business functions.

Payroll and Compliance Knowledge: Maintains working knowledge of payroll systems, payroll compliance requirements, and applicable union contracts, including support of union-related payroll and benefit processing.

Professional Judgment and Confidentiality: Demonstrates sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential payroll and employee information.

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
