Job Summary and Description

Position responsible for teaching Continuing Education classes. Continuing Education Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity contingent upon the needs of the department. Classes are offered during daytime, evenings, and weekends as well as some College holidays. Classes are offered at various times and locations during the academic year.

 Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree or combination of training, education and experience that equates to the required degree.
  • Three years of work related experience.
  • Successfully completed a course in teaching adults.
  • Experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides.
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in a facility.

 Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience with planning, developing, implementing curriculum and delivering formal classroom and online instruction preferred.
  • Five years of work related experience in the healthcare industry; may include long term, acute, or emergency care.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must be a current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Texas.
  • OSHA and CPR certifications preferred.
