Job Summary

Lead team members in a flow path to safely produce quality product at the lowest cost by problem-solving to eliminate waste and continue growth. This position reports to the Extrusion Prep/Pre-Heat Manager.

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3 Years or more in a Manufacturing Environment required.

 

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Shop Floor experience in the Prep Department preferred.
  • Leadership experience and training preferred.
  • Candidate must possess strong communication, problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge and/or understanding of the overall Prep/Preheat process.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Oracle.

What you will be doing

  • Provides a physically and emotionally safe working environment promoting mutual trust and respect.
  • Investigates safety incidents and works on preventive safety techniques with teams.
  • Provides first response (first on help chain) to team members when customer demand is jeopardized, or area is shutting down due to safety and/or quality problems.
  • Sponsors and facilitates rapid problem-solving process across areas. Works to remove waste across areas.
  • Maintains personal touch with each team member during the course of the shift.
  • Develop Work Instructions and/or Standardized Work with team members and sponsors use of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety and quality practices, Standardized Work across areas.
  • Coaches and educates crew/team in Safety, Quality, Genesis concepts/principles, work practices, problem solving methods, and people issues.
