Job Description To plan, organize and direct maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and related facilities and systems. This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered. Key Responsibilities Supervisory
● Hires, trains, and evaluates journeyman maintenance personnel in multiple shop trades and related functions.
● Trains staff in the operation and maintenance of tools, equipment, and related devices. Mentor, train, and develop staff.
● Schedules jobs.
● Evaluates contractors' work.
● Determines staff needs.
● Prepares cost, time, and manpower estimates.
● Prepares specifications for bid contracts.
● Selects, orders, and receives supplies and materials.
● Directs special event set‐up and maintenance.
● Estimates costs for budgeting and monitors expenditures.
● Evaluates equipment and facilities for useful life expectancy and replaces or schedules maintenance.
● Prepares reports regarding maintenance activities.
● Meets with staff, tenants, and administrative staff to determine priorities for maintenance activities.
● Performs project site inspections.
● Develops plans for maintenance and construction projects.
Maintenance/operations
● Reviews areas for damage and schedules work to correct deficiencies.
● Directs safety code compliance, maintenance of records, and employee training regarding safety issues.
● Plans and implements changes and procedures for general energy conservation.
● Maintain and ensure proper operation of boiler, chiller, air conditioner and computerized HVAC monitoring and control systems.
● Oversees repairs to appliances, plumbing fixtures, and replaces lights, ballasts, receptacles, and switches.
● Ensures grounds surrounding facility are cared for properly and sprinkler systems are maintained.
● Examines building interior and exterior and determines type and amount of maintenance work needed.
● Inspects fire extinguisher and alarm control systems for workability.
● May perform maintenance work related to trades areas.
● Uses a variety of tools and equipment associated with building maintenance work.
● Establishes preventive maintenance schedules.
Other Responsibilities:
● The ability to work a regular schedule consistent with the needs of the university is an essential function of this position.
● All other Reasonable Duties as Assigned.
Office hours are typically between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. On call or after-hours work may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities. This position is not eligible for remote work.
Minimum Qualifications
minimum of six (6) years combined training, education, and experience may be
considered.

commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include comprehensive
