Job Description

About Us:

We’re a fast-growing, privately held insurance company on a path to becoming a leading U.S. retail platform. We believe every client and customer relationship holds the potential to become something greater—and the same is true for our people. As we grow, we’re redefining how great talent connects with meaningful work, enabling our ambitious strategy while building a culture of high performance, creativity, and partnership. If you’re energized by a fast-paced, high growth and team-oriented workplace, you’ll thrive here.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Marketing Review Compliance Director who brings a creative and collaborative mindset combined with deep compliance and regulatory experience in partnering with retail sales, product and marketing teams to mitigate legal and regulatory risk in marketing and other related materials. You’ll partner closely with the retail and legal teams to understand product and marketing strategies and find the creative solutions that best supports our growth strategy.

What You’ll Do:

Lead Marketing Review

  • Gain and continuously enrich understanding of product and retail strategies including existing and new product features, distribution channels, and the nuances of each
  • Partner with Product and Marketing teams in product and other marketing concept development to address legal risk and regulatory compliance as early as possible
  • Establish and/or follow material review processes which follow company guidelines, and applicable state and federal regulations (including annuity and life illustrations, contract summaries and other disclosure materials)
  • Establish and/or follow a web and social media review process, reviewing the company’s existing external presence and partnering to adjust as needed
  • Monitor financial professional and other distributor social media posts and/or web content to ensure accuracy and appropriateness as it relates to the Company’s products and services; assist in the remediation of any issues

Ensure Governance

  • Establish internal, compliant processes to ensure accurate and timely maintenance and delivery of Marketing logs and other reports necessary for executive leadership and regulators
  • Create and update as needed guidelines for Marketing to drive consistent legal and compliance standards and minimize re-work in review
  • Analyze, identify trends, and promote opportunities for risk mitigation and/or improvement in marketing material development, review and/or continuous tracking and updating, including the assessment of AI and other technological tools leveraged in marketing

Consult & Advise

  • Stay abreast of legal and regulatory guidance and company’s evolving strategy to strike the right balance representing both
  • Ensure marketing material readiness for exams, litigation and other such inquiries
  • Provide training and other education as needed
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to leverage expertise and perspective

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5–7 years in the life and/or annuity insurance industry in marketing material compliance on behalf of an insurance company or FINRA regulated broker-dealer
  • An independent self-starter who builds meaningful consultative relationships quickly
  • High degree of execution excellence balancing speed and quality for the best outcomes
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and influencing skills
  • A natural problem solver skilled at finding solutions to address legal and compliance risks
  • Strong data literacy using metrics and tools for reporting and efficiency

What We Offer:

  • A collaborative, inclusive environment that values authenticity, accountability, and partnership
  • The opportunity to join the company at an exciting stage of growth, where colleagues are empowered to build what’s next
  • A variable compensation package with a base range of $150-200k
  • A competitive benefits package including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; an HSA and 401(k) company match; paid time off; and employer-paid life and disability insurance
  • Remote/hybrid work arrangement
