Part Time Assistant Teachers
Position Summary/Description:
- All educator positions work under the general direction of the Early Learning Center Director and depending on classroom role, will be responsible for; the education, supervision and care of children, curriculum planning, family engagement in the Early Learning Center classroom.

- All educators employed by the South Shore YMCA Early Learning Center will be required to successfully complete the following trainings: CPR/First Aid, OSHA and Emergency Procedures, Child Abuse Prevention and Reporting, new employee orientation and South Shore YMCA Early Learning Center orientation including all EEC requirements such as online medical training, PQ registration, and professional development trainings.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Assistant Teachers must be at least 18 years of age.
- Teachers, Lead Teachers: completion of or in process of attaining a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education or related field or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with EEC regulations, QRIS Standards, and NAEYC.
- The ability to develop positive, effective working relationships with, staff, children & families, volunteers are critical to this position.
- Effective teaching skills, the ability to implement methods to address and follow up with family/staff needs/concerns in a positive and professional way reflecting an attitude that values diversity.
- Must meet state EEC licensing requirements for the educator position you are seeking/hired for. Additional South Shore YMCA requirements may apply.
