Job Description

Summary

Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, the General Warehouse Worker  is responsible for picking and packing parts, ensuring neat and orderly storage of materials/parts, and accurately maintaining inventory levels.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Transport materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas using a forklift.
  • Load and unload material/parts from trucks.
  • Read reports, routings, and blueprints to determine material needed, material location and proper destination.
  • Notify supervisor of low inventory supply.
  • Maintain inventory records on computer system as needed.
  • Operate forklift to lift heavier material and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of material, equipment and supplies via cycle counts weekly and release to production as needed.
  • Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school degree preferred
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment preferred
  • Experience operating forklifts and other equipment is a plus

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports, procedure manuals, and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and other employees of the organization. Bilingual English/Spanish helpful, but not required.
