Internship Description
Clinical Experience
Provide direct clinical services to clients under supervision
Carry an average caseload of approximately eighteen (18) clients per week
Conduct assessments, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions appropriate to training level
Maintain professional boundaries and ethical decision-making at all times
Supervision & Training
Participate in weekly individual and group supervision
Receive ongoing clinical consultation and real-time support
Attend trainings, case consultations, and professional development opportunities offered by Compass of Hope
Gain exposure to a variety of clinical presentations, treatment modalities, and documentation standards
Supportive Clinical Environment
Interns are supported by a robust leadership and supervision structure, including:
Lead Therapists
Site Supervisors
Clinical Director
On-call clinical supervisor available during all hours of operation
Clear escalation pathways are in place to ensure intern support and client safety
Emphasis on learning, growth, feedback, and skill development
Professional Development Focus
Structured to prepare interns for the pre-licensure stage, including:
Development of clinical confidence and professional identity
Strong documentation and ethical decision-making skills
Readiness to manage increased caseloads post-graduation
Interns are treated as emerging professionals and integrated into the clinical team

Commitment to maintaining scheduled availability and clinical responsibilities
Timely and accurate completion of clinical documentation in accordance with agency policy
Active participation in supervision, trainings, and consultations
Adherence to all Compass of Hope policies, procedures, and ethical standards
Professional conduct and collaboration with staff and leadership

Eligibility Requirements
Currently enrolled in a graduate-level mental health program requiring a clinical internship or practicum
Eligible to see clients under supervision per academic and state requirements
Commitment to learning, professional growth, and ethical clinical practice
