About the Role:
The Clinical Education Coordinator plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing educational programs that enhance clinical staff knowledge and skills within healthcare settings. This position ensures that clinical education initiatives align with regulatory standards and organizational goals to improve patient care outcomes. The coordinator collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to assess educational needs, develop curriculum, and facilitate training sessions for healthcare professionals. By monitoring program effectiveness and incorporating feedback, the role continuously advances the quality and relevance of clinical education. Ultimately, the Clinical Education Coordinator supports the professional development of clinical staff, fostering a culture of learning and excellence in patient care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in teaching, training, or staff development
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications required. Prefer instructor certification in each identified.
- Certification in crisis prevention from MOAB must be obtained within one year of employment.
- Strong knowledge of clinical practices, healthcare regulations, and accreditation requirements.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems.
- Familiarity with adult learning theories and diverse teaching methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Education, or a related discipline.
- Certification in Clinical Education or Healthcare Training (e.g., Certified Clinical Educator, Certified Healthcare Education Specialist).
- Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
- Familiarity with adult learning theories and diverse teaching methodologies.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver clinical education programs and training sessions tailored to healthcare staff needs.
- Maintain education policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory regulations..
- Assess educational needs through collaboration with clinical leaders, staff feedback, and performance data analysis.
- Ensure all educational content complies with current healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices.
- Manage scheduling, resources, and logistics for training activities, including workshops, seminars, and online modules.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs through assessments, surveys, and outcome measurements, and implement improvements accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant progress, and certification statuses.
- Serve as a liaison between clinical departments and education providers to facilitate communication and resource sharing.
- Stay current with advancements in clinical education methodologies and healthcare industry trends.
Skills:
The Clinical Education Coordinator utilizes strong organizational skills daily to plan and manage multiple educational programs efficiently. Communication skills are essential for collaborating with clinical staff, leadership, and external education providers to ensure clarity and engagement. Analytical skills are applied to assess educational needs and evaluate program effectiveness, enabling continuous improvement. Proficiency with educational technologies and learning management systems supports the delivery of both in-person and virtual training sessions. Additionally, knowledge of clinical practices and healthcare regulations ensures that all educational content is accurate, relevant, and compliant with industry standards.
M-F 8AM-5PM but may be needed for evening and weekend as training needs require.
This is FT position budgeted at 1.0 FTE. This position is eligible for shift differential and is classified as a non-exempt from overtime position.
