Position Description



 


 


POSITION TITLE:    Intermediate ESoL Paraprofessional


 


FLSA:    Exempt


 


REPORTS TO:     Principal and/or ESOL Coordinator


 


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  185 Day contract.


 


Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered ESOL Paraprofessional to support English Learners. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and strong communication skills, while maintaining strict student confidentiality.


 


Key Responsibilities:



  • Work under the direction of certified staff and administrators to support instructional goals

  • Collaborate closely with ESOL teachers to provide daily intensive instruction for English Learners

  • Supervise students to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment

  • Assist with classroom instruction and student learning activities

  • Support the collection, assessment, and reflection of student performance data to help guide instructional decisions

  • Foster a belief that all students can learn and succeed


Qualifications & Skills:



  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

  • Willingness to learn and grow in an educational setting

  • Strong collaboration skills and flexibility when working with diverse student populations and staff

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds


Required Credentials:



  • Minimum of 60 college credit hours or

  • Passing score on the Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
