    Position Summary:

    Big Sandy  ISD is seeking a motivated and experienced Head Girls Basketball Coach to lead and grow a competitive high school girls basketball program at the UIL 2A level. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of discipline, teamwork, and academic success while developing student-athletes both on and off the court.  

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the high school girls athletics.
    • Promote sportsmanship, character development, and academic achievement among student-athletes.
    • Manage game preparation including scouting, strategy development, and film review.
    • Coordinate with the athletic director, school administration, and other coaches within the athletic program.
    • Oversee equipment, uniforms, and program budget.
    • Communicate effectively with players, parents, faculty, and community members.
    • Ensure compliance with UIL, district, and school policies and regulations.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • CDL or willing to obtain
    • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate (or enrolled in a teacher certification program).
    • Previous coaching experience in basketball; head coaching experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of UIL rules and regulations.
    • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Commitment to developing student-athletes academically and athletically.
