We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our Girls' Varsity Wrestling program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing student-athletes in both their wrestling skills and personal growth, fostering a positive team culture, and promoting the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline. This full-time position requires a commitment to the success of the program and the well-being of the student-athletes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that emphasizes technique, strength conditioning, and mental preparation.
- Organize and conduct daily practices, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
- Coach athletes during competitions, providing strategic guidance and real-time feedback.
- Monitor and assess the progress of each athlete, offering individualized support and mentorship.
- Foster a culture of respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship within the team and the broader school community.
- Collaborate with school administration, athletic department staff, and parents to promote the wrestling program and its goals.
- Schedule and coordinate competitions, including matches and tournaments, while managing logistics and travel arrangements.
- Maintain accurate records of athletes’ performance, attendance, and eligibility.
- Organize team meetings, events, and fundraising activities to enhance team cohesion and support.
- Stay current with wrestling techniques, coaching strategies, and safety protocols, including attending clinics and workshops as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field preferred.
- Previous coaching experience, particularly in wrestling, at the high school or collegiate level.
- Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students, parents, and staff.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- First Aid/CPR certification and completion of any required coaching certifications.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all athletes.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends, as required by the competition schedule.

This is a Part Time, Seasonal Position, GIRLS VARSITY WRESTLING HEAD COACH
THE FOLLOWING POSITION IS AVAILABLE FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to teach fundamentals in sport.
Ability to see and analyze players’ abilities and mistakes.
Ability to correct mistakes that hinder athletic development.
Ability to stimulate sportsmanship at all times including that of athletes, parents
and staff.
Ability to develop good team spirit in all team members.
Ability to develop leadership in athletes.
Help players develop values and morals.
Ability to instill self-confidence in all team members.
Must maintain adequate records and statistics.
Must communicate and respect the requests from the athletic director and/or
his/her office personnel.
Experience supervising others is desired.
Past experiences participating in wrestling at the high school level is desired.
Experience as a coach is desired.
Must have a High School Diploma.
Must satisfactorily pass: Criminal History background check.
