    • Hours:  20 hours/week Mon-Thurs 3pm - 8pm (hours could be adjusted based on school needs)
    • Hourly Rate: $27.71 (unarmed) or $30.30 (armed) Subject to increase as of 7/1/26 pending budget approval

    Overview

    We are seeking a dedicated, vigilant, and community-minded School Security Officer to join our campus safety team. The ideal candidate isn't just a sentry; they are a calm, professional presence capable of building rapport with students while maintaining a high level of tactical readiness.

    At Amity Region 5, our priority is fostering a safe, inclusive environment where students feel protected and empowered to learn. 

    Qualifications:

    • Law enforcement background a plus
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Willingness to work collaboratively with administrators, students and parents

    Job Details include, but are not limited to:

    • Building safety and security checks
    • Monitoring of halls, parking lots, or other areas assigned by school administration
    • Attend extracurricular activities as needed
    • Intervention and assistance with student issues
    • Other assignments as deemed necessary/appropriate
