The Castleford School District is looking for an EL Paraprofessional who would also work with our Migrant families and be the district's translator. We are a four-day school, Tuesday through Friday with some Monday In-service days. We value our students, parents, staff, and community.
The successful candidate will work with the EL Coordinator, create and deliver lessons, coordinate and administer testing, collaborate with staff, and translate as needed for our Spanish speaking families, both verbal and written. The translation part of the position provides an extra stipend.
Other responsibilities of the position include, but aren't limited to:
Assist students and teachers for needs to further students' knowledge in English,
Develop instructional materials for the students' skilled area under the direction of the EL Coordinator to enhance student learning,
Instruct students for their growth in skills and knowledge,
Maintain student records and parent communications for the purpose of student learning,
Provide information to appropriate staff for the purpose of enhancing student learning and individual learning plans,
Maintain a professional demeanor with students, parents, and staff,
Handle all confidential information appropriately,
Attend after school meetings, duties and other tasks as directed by the Superintendent and/or Principal,
Ability to implement curriculum, understand and address student needs, carry out all instructions, meet schedules and deadlines, be flexible, interact with people of all ages and backgrounds appropriately, read/interpret/apply rules, regulations, and policies, and any other duties as needed.
