- Experience working with young children
- Sensitivity to the needs of young children
- Fundamental understanding of the developmental needs of young children
- Basic CPR training a plus
- Supervising students (Grade 1 – Grade 4) on the playground and/or in a classroom setting for safety and appropriate behavior
- Helping students resolve minor conflicts with their peers
- Observing student behavior
- Consistently circulating the playground area (or classroom) to observe student interaction
- Preparation of written disciplinary report for administration, when required
- Delivery of items dropped off for students by parents to the applicable classrooms, including bus notes or other dismissal notes.
