Maintenance/Janitor Assistant w/ prior Healthcare Facility experience
San Rafael, CA
Full Time - Flexible
Wage: $18-$20/hr DOE
Smith Ranch Skilled Nursing, a Generations Healthcare is in search of a Maintenance/Janitor Assistant to join our team. 
Job Summary:
The primary role of the Maintenance Assistant is to maintain the grounds, facility, equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by your supervisor, to assure that a successful maintenance program is maintained at all times.
Essential Duties (include but are not limited to):
• Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift or area.
• Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor no matter how minor they may be.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
• Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or administrator.
Qualifications:
• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas.
• Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.
• Must have the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing maintenance practices.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
