Job Description

Position Title: Engineer Consultant

Reporting To: The Consultant will report to the Project Team Leader for technical direction and to the Project Manager for administrative matters.

Consultancy Duration: Approximately 3 days

Location: Honduras

Position Summary:

The Client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to:

1. Carry out physical inspection of a geothermal power plant infrastructure and assess conformance with approved scope, design specification and international best practice, and the systems are operational with appropriate operations and maintenance systems in place.

2. Review infrastructure compliance with the IFC Performance Standards and IFC EHS Guidelines

Key Responsibilities:

·       Conduct desk-based and field reviews of project documentation, including feasibility studies, approved scope, technical specifications, contract requirements and overall engineering designs.

o   Review and assess O&M manuals, maintenance schedules, spare parts strategy, asset management

o   Review engineering designs and layouts to assess land acquisition, resettlement, community health and safety, labor conditions, emissions, waste management, and biodiversity impacts (if applicable)

·       Conduct site inspection, verifying material compliance, structural integrity, installation requirements

·       Identify environmental and social risks, gaps, and corrective actions

·       If needed participate in key informant interviews (KIIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs) with project-affected communities, regulators, utilities, and project sponsors.

·       Collaborate with environmental specialists, social specialists, economists, and field teams to synthesize findings.

·       Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, IFC PS compliance matrices, and case studies.
