Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to support our accounting team, with a primary focus on account reconciliation. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. In addition to reconciliation, the Accounting Assistant will assist with a variety of routine accounting functions, including data entry, invoice processing, and general ledger support.

Key Responsibilities:

Reconciliation Duties (Primary Focus):

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile credit card statements and vendor accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances in accounts.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, specifically related to reconciliations.
  • Ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.

General Accounting Support:

  • Enter and maintain financial records in the accounting system.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Assist in preparing invoices and monitoring customer payments.
  • Maintain and organize financial documents and records.
  • Provide support during audits and assist in gathering documentation.
  • Perform other clerical duties such as filing, scanning, and data entry as needed.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

 

- Possession of a relevant qualification in accounting/finance.

- Proven experience as an accounting assistant or a similar role.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
