Job Description

Description

Inspect and test materials, WIP and finished products such as painted parts, Mast assemblies, Lighting assemblies, and machine shop parts, for conformance to drawings and specifications by performing the following duties.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

 

·         Examine material or product for conformance to drawings and specifications.

·         Compares product with parts list, drawings or sample model to ensure completion of assembly.

·         Verifies specified dimensions of product or material.

·         Perform functional testing on assembled products and keep records of test results

·         Creates Nonconformance reports in database for parts and product found to be nonconforming and communicate with relevant parties

·         Support MRB and Root cause analysis by providing real evidence from the floor and managing materials in the MRB cage

·         Hold periodic MRB meetings with relevant stakeholders to ensure disposition of Nonconforming materials

·         Communicate with operations to understand daily inspection and test needs

·         Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated and monitored for calibration validity

·         Use Syteline to understand inventory levels in support of nonconformance investigation

·         Perform final inspection of finished products and packaging and keep records of inspection

·         Ensure inspection records are accurate and are accessible when needed

·         Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications, company's quality control system for conformity to set standards.

·         Stamps mark of approval or rejection on product and writes report of examinations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or an Associates in a Technical field; or one to two years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing or ISO9001 environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have general knowledge of machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, assembly and paint process.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Ability to be certified on operations of coordinate measuring machines.  Ability to use a variety of precision measurement instruments.
