Job Description

GENERAL INTRODUCTION:



The Archbishop, visible principle of unity in his archdiocese, is called to build up the particular Church unceasingly in the communion of all its members, and to ensure that their diverse gifts and ministries, in union with the universal Church, serve to build up all the faithful and to spread the Gospel. (Apostolorum Successores 8). He must take care that all the affairs which belong to the administration of the whole archdiocese are duly coordinated and are ordered to attain more suitably the good of the portion of the people of God entrusted to him.” (Apostolorum Successores 177).



 



Each position employed in the Chancery helps to extend the ministry of the Archbishop in particular ways as outlined in the position description.



GENERAL SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE:



This position will provide support in the nurturing of our Cabrinian ministry. General responsibilities include promotions, recruiting parishes and volunteers, developing resources, and planning and leading events. The position coordinates with archdiocesan ministries and others on collaborative projects. The position works with individual Catholics to share their stories and promote justice for immigrants. The position provides logistical and event support for the annual Catholic Immigration Summit.  This is a 12-month, half-time position.



 



ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:




  • Mother Cabrini Missionary Disciples: work with other IRM staff to recruit, respond to, and support individuals and parishes looking for ways to accompany and support immigrants. Track participation.

  • In coordination with lay leadership at parishes and schools, offer dialogues, events, Chutes and Ladders immigration game, etc.

  • Court Accompaniment: support parish accompaniment teams through forming, training, outreach, accompaniment, and follow up.




  • Create resources and assets for individuals and parishes including ways to accompany immigrants, advocating for justice for immigrants, learn more, and deepen their faith.

  • Use local and national events to encourage concerned Catholics to take action “this just happened, do this in response”

  • Assist with annual immigration summit promotion and provide staff support during the summit, usually the first Saturday in October; and other Immigrant and Refugee Ministry events as needed.
