Job Description
Position Summary:
The DevOps Engineer will have a strong technical background with experience working on medium to large scale environments. 
Work as part of a cross-functional team to provide technical support, troubleshooting and complex problem resolution on escalated issues while monitoring and maintaining application environment stability. 
Provide support during large scale scheduled maintenance and disaster recovery efforts
Identify, research, and develop system process improvements and recommends them to management for implementation/automation
Create, use and maintain resource documentation for reference and troubleshooting problems
Create and follow change requests in accordance with change management policy
This position operates in a 24x7x365 environment. Participate in the rotating "on call" schedule with other members of the team.
Running AWS-based automation, system level automation and troubleshooting issues when they arise.

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Windows and Linux experience
  • AWS experience including experience with EC2, S3, Lambda, SQL Server, etc.
  •  Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python)

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with Docker, SQL Server, containerization and Kubernetes.

A Day in The Life Typically Includes:
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting complex server infrastructure and network environments. 
  • Experience with server configuration automation tools and automating processes. 
  • Experience administering a production-state system and interacting directly with customers. 
  • Ability to work as part of a team in building, administering and deploying automated systems. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in documenting and teaching installation and configuration processes.
  • Linux and Windows OS administration
  • A general understanding of cloud technologies and/or experience with AWS (EC2, ELB, S3, VPC, SES). 
  • Strong scripting experience and software development (Python, PowerShell, Shell, Batch)
  • Experience with AWS Cloud automation is a plus
  • Good understanding of System level security
  • Experience with any industry standard monitoring solution is a plus (Monocle and SumoLogic)
