Position Summary
The Hotel Manager is responsible for the overall operation and guest experience at Wedmore Place, a 28-room boutique hotel located on the grounds of The Williamsburg Winery. This role oversees daily hotel operations including front desk, housekeeping, breakfast service, pool and bar areas, while ensuring exceptional guest service, operational efficiency, and alignment with brand standards.
The Hotel Manager will also manage reservations and distribution channels, including platforms such as Expedia, Booking.com, and WebRezPro, optimizing occupancy and revenue performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Experience
- Oversee all day-to-day hotel operations across front desk, housekeeping, breakfast service, pool, and bar
- Ensure a seamless, high-quality guest experience from check-in to check-out
- Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, implementing service recovery when needed
- Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and functionality of all guest rooms and common areas
Team Leadership
- Manage, train, and schedule front desk associates, housekeepers, and breakfast staff
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and hospitality excellence
- Conduct performance management, coaching, and ongoing staff development
Revenue & Reservations Management
- Manage room inventory, pricing, and availability across OTA channels and direct bookings
- Oversee reservations via WebRezPro and third-party platforms
- Monitor and optimize listings on Expedia and Booking.com
- Analyze occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR trends to drive revenue growth
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Manage departmental budgets, payroll, and cost controls
- Ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation of daily revenue
- Coordinate with accounting and leadership on financial performance
Facilities & Compliance
- Ensure the property is maintained to safety and operational standards
- Oversee pool and bar compliance, cleanliness, and guest readiness
- Coordinate with maintenance/vendors for repairs and preventative upkeep
Collaboration
- Work closely with winery leadership, events, and F&B teams to align guest experience
- Support group bookings, weddings, and special events hosted on property
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of hotel management or hospitality leadership experience
- Experience managing boutique or small-to-mid-size properties preferred
- Strong familiarity with hotel PMS systems (experience with WebRezPro a plus)
- Experience with OTA platforms such as Expedia and Booking.com
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs as needed
- Comfortable moving between indoor and outdoor areas (pool, grounds, etc.)
