Job Title: Production Assistant Department: Finishing
Reports To: Department Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Wage Range: $14.00-17.00/HR
Shifts: 1st, 2nd or 3rd - 8HR Day/Night
Shift Differentials: 2nd - $1.50 and 3rd - $3.00

Job Summary:
A Production Assistant will provide internal production support on the floor for all the finishing machines and other departments. They will gain practical experience, develop mechanical skills, and contribute to real projects in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily operations and team projects.
- Fill trays/boxes & stack on pallets
- Help with documentation, product quality checks and organization of workspaces.
- Find & prepare tray tags
- Complete tasks in a timeframe that aligns with production expectations.
- Support team members with various operational tasks.
- Support 6S initiatives as required.
- Follow all Nahan safety and quality standards.
- Work assigned shifts, including weekends and overtime, as required.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to display and engage in good communication skills (written, verbal & listening)
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good math skills, ability to use and understand a ruler.
- Good time management skills and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn mechanical aspects of equipment.
- Proficiency/fluent with English language, both written and verbal.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- On-the-job training provided.

This job operates in both an Office and Manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job inside the office and manufacturing facility, the employee is frequently exposed to normal to moderate working conditions for a manufacturing facility with a noise level that is usually moderate to loud and office conditions where the employee is frequently exposed to normal office conditions with a noise level that is usually quiet to moderate. The role routinely uses printing equipment and machines, as well as office equipment such as laptops, computers, etc.
While performing the duties of this job, this position requires frequent verbal, and/or written communication and active engagement with others, as well as the ability to remain attentive and responsive in a dynamic office/production environment. The employee may be required to stand for long periods of time as well as use hands or fingers to reach or handle, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will regularly lift 25lbs or more at a time. All vision abilities are required to encompass close-up work. Employees must be able to tolerate and endure extended seasonal hours and maintain alertness to meet deadlines.
Occasionally while performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to machinery and moving parts, airborne particles including paper dust and hazardous materials or fumes, which may require the use of PPE. The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, extended seasonal hours, high precarious places, and confined spaces. The nose level in some of the work environments may require the use of hearing protection.
