Role Overview
We are seeking a Tools Expert with strong hands-on experience in SolarWinds monitoring, automation scripting, and infrastructure operations tools. This individual will play a critical role in managing and optimizing monitoring environments, automating routine tasks, and ensuring visibility, reliability, and performance across IT systems. The ideal candidate will bring both deep technical expertise and strategic thinking to enhance our infrastructure management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring & Tools Management
- Administer, maintain, and enhance SolarWinds Orion Platform and its modules (NPM, NTA, SAM, NCM, etc.).
- Develop and configure custom dashboards, alerts, and reports for proactive monitoring.
- Integrate SolarWinds with other infrastructure and incident management tools.
- Perform health checks, patching, and upgrades of SolarWinds components.
- Automation & Scripting
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting to streamline monitoring and operational workflows.
- Automate repetitive system administration and monitoring tasks.
- Contribute to infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and toolchain automation initiatives.
- Performance & Optimization
- Analyze system performance trends and optimize monitoring thresholds.
- Recommend and implement improvements to tools architecture and monitoring coverage.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and application teams to troubleshoot performance issues.
- Documentation & Governance
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, processes, and automation scripts.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security and governance standards.
- Train and mentor junior team members on tools usage and scripting best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 5–8 years of experience in IT Infrastructure and Operations, with at least 3 years in monitoring tools and automation.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in SolarWinds Orion Suite (NPM, SAM, NTA, NCM).
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, Shell scripting, or VBScript.
- Experience integrating SolarWinds with ServiceNow, Splunk, or API-based systems.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux system administration.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.

Nice to have
- Familiarity with network protocols, SNMP, WMI, and REST APIs.

- Certifications: CCNA, AWS/Azure/GCP associate, PCAP.
