Job Description

CUSD 303 is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as part-time ELEM Speech Language Pathologist at Anderson Elementary School for the 26-27 SY.

Speech/Language Pathologists evaluate students for speech and language disorders and work with teachers, other school personnel, and parents to develop and carry out individual or group programs, provide counseling and support classroom activities. They help students with a wide range of speech-language related problems to meet performance standards. Their work includes prevention, assessment, intervention, and program design efforts to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education/Certification:

  • Master's Degree from accredited training institution
  • Speech/Language Pathology license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Licensure tests, including Speech/Language Pathologist (non-teaching) or Licensure tests including Speech/Language Pathologist (teaching)
  • Completion of a preparation program in the field of specialization

BA, Step 1 - BA +24, Step 8: $59,624.00 - $73,918.00
MA, Step 1 - MA +60 Step 8, $67,369.00 - $93,512.00
PHD/EDD Step 1 - Step 8 $83,420.00 - $96,720.00

BA, Step 1 - BA +24, Step 8: $54,854.06 - $68,004.53
MA, Step 1 - MA +60 Step 8, $61,979.45 - $86,031.00

Special Knowledge/Skills:
● Experience writing and implementing IEP’s
● Experience working collaboratively with a wide variety of professionals and parents
● Understanding and experience collecting, analyzing, and monitoring student data
● Understanding of and experience supporting student with social thinking/pragmatic
language deficits
● Understanding and experience supporting students with articulation/phonological
disorders
● Understanding and experience supporting students with expressive and receptive
language disorders
● Understanding and experience with students who use Augmentative and Assistive
Technology and developing alternative language systems
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
● Work cooperatively with administrators, consultants, community members and others
● Consult with teachers and relevant staff concerning the educational needs of students and
the interpretation of assessment data
● Assist teachers in establishing structures to accommodate the learning needs of students
● Follow School Board, district, and building guidelines and procedures

● Consult with parents of students, who have been formally evaluated, about educational
interventions and/or management strategies that can be utilized at home and at school to
assist the student in reaching their full potential
● Manage routine business and record keeping efficiently
● Maintain confidential information about students and their families

professional growth
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and
peripherals.
Posture: Frequent sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing, pulling, and
twisting.
Vision: Abilities required of this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Motion: Frequent movement throughout the work environment. Repetitive hand motions;
frequent keyboarding, use of mouse, and occasional reaching.
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying less than 25 pounds
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Have the ability to solve complex problems in situations where only
limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions provided through written and
oral form. Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under
stress.
