    Job Summary
    We are seeking a passionate and dynamic High School Chemistry Teacher to inspire and educate students in the fascinating world of science. This role involves delivering engaging lessons, fostering curiosity, and developing students' understanding of chemical principles and scientific inquiry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in chemistry, including organic chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, and related sciences, along with a commitment to nurturing a positive learning environment. As a key member of our educational team, you will utilize innovative teaching methods and learning technologies to help students excel academically and develop critical thinking skills essential for their future success.

    Duties

    • Design and implement comprehensive chemistry curricula aligned with educational standards and tailored to diverse student needs.
    • Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on laboratory experiments in areas such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, cell biology, and molecular biology.
    • Develop innovative lesson plans incorporating instructional design principles and modern learning technology tools to enhance student understanding.
    • Manage classroom behavior effectively through classroom management techniques while fostering an inclusive and respectful environment.
    • Prepare students for standardized testing by creating practice assessments and providing targeted tutoring support.
    • Assess student progress regularly through assignments, quizzes, projects, and lab reports; provide constructive feedback to promote growth.
    • Mentor students individually or in groups, offering academic advising and guidance on research projects or science competitions.
    • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives and participate in professional development opportunities related to higher education teaching methods or special education strategies.
    • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and participation; ensure compliance with school policies and safety regulations during laboratory activities.
    • Engage with library services for resource acquisition or research support; stay current with scientific research advancements relevant to high school education.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • Proven classroom experience teaching high school science subjects with a focus on chemistry.
    • Strong knowledge of chemistry disciplines including organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, calculus, trigonometry, algebra, discrete math, differential equations, and proofing techniques.
    • Experience in laboratory settings with dissection skills and laboratory safety protocols.
    • Familiarity with instructional design tools and learning technology platforms to create interactive lessons.
    • Excellent communication skills for working effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
    • Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering an engaging learning environment.
    • Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and experience tutoring or preparing students for exams.
    • Demonstrated ability to mentor students in research projects or science competitions; experience in higher education teaching is a plus.
    • Strong organizational skills for lesson planning, curriculum development, and record-keeping.
