    Bilingual Educational Assistant (Portuguese or Spanish)--Summer School
     

    Dates:
    Elementary:  June 1-25; hours not to exceed 65--includes hours prior to SS start (May 26-May 29) to ensure a smooth start
    Daily hours during session:  8:45 am - 12:15 pm
    Locations: Perry Middle School (Grades 3-5 programs)


    Overall Duties
    As an active member of the team providing instructional support to students from various language backgrounds.

    Qualifications:
    Minimum of high school diploma or the equivalent and State of Ohio Educational Aide Permit.  Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in English, as well as in Spanish and/or Portuguese.

    Typical Tasks (Illustrative only):

    • Assists in the instruction of English Language Learners in cooperation with the English Language teacher and classroom teacher
    • Works with students in small group or full classroom settings
    • Strengthens connections between school staff and families
    • Acts as an interpreter in various school situations, including parent conferences
    • Assists health staff in securing needed information for each child
    • Supports EL Teacher Leader with connections to community partners
    • Reports to EL Teacher Leader for overall coordination of scheduling
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    *Salary Range $26.17/hr to $33.36/hr*
