Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

o   Engineering & Technical Support:

o   Provide engineering support for aerospace product builds, including design interpretation, material selection, tolerance review, test planning, and manufacturability assessments.

o   Translate customer requirements, specifications, and drawings into actionable manufacturing plans, work instructions, and inspection criteria.

o   Support prototype builds, iterative design changes, and transition to production.

o   Composites, Materials & Process Integration

o   Apply knowledge of composite materials, resin systems, layup techniques, curing methods, bonding, machining, and assembly to optimize product designs and processes.

o   Define and document processing parameters and acceptance criteria to ensure quality and repeatability.

o   Cross-functional collaboration to integrate new materials, technologies and tooling.

o   Manufacturing Readiness

o   Support process development, validation, and control activities that improve yield, consistency, and throughput.

o   Lead/support root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.

o   Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing documentation.

o   Quality System & Compliance

o   Ensure products and processes meet customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.

o   Support inspection and nonconformance analysis.

o   Participate in internal and external audits and closure of findings.

o   Project & Program Support

o   Assist with project planning, technical risk assessments, and cost/lead-time inputs for quotations and proposals.

o   Support introduction of new aerospace products and transferred programs into production.        

 Qualifications & Experience:

o   Education:

o   Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace, or related field.

o   Experience:

o   5-7 years of experience of aerospace and advanced composite experience in a manufacturing environment.

o   Some technical sales experiences preferred but not required.

o   Experience supporting hardware through build, inspection, and delivery.

o   Exposure to both aerospace and defense programs preferred.

o   Skills:

o   Strong understanding of AS9100, aerospace quality requirements, ITAR and customer qualification processes.

o   Experience working with CATIA models and drawings.

o   Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

o   Strong problem-solving skills

o   Experience developing manufacturing documentation and technical reports.

       Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and support shop floor operations.
  • Navigate the manufacturing floor, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Standard business hours with flexibility required around customers’ demands.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift items weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, conferences, and industry events
  • Must be a US. Person (Resident Alien or US Citizen) under 22 CFR 120 (due to ITAR Restrictions
