Position Summary	The Global & National Security Policy Institute (GNSPI) brings together global and national security-related courses, research, and programs at the University of New Mexico in a coherent whole under one umbrella to serve the entire institution—students and faculty—across its several campuses. The GNSPI mission is to develop future policy leaders skilled in understanding the interdependency of technology and business in establishing and implementing effective national security policy.  Our partnerships with New Mexico’s premier national laboratories provide the intellectual basis for understanding the threats to national security, particularly in technology and global “commons” (e.g., space, climate, food & water, and energy resources), and their role in international relations. Our graduates are educated in the consequences of the global diffusion of technology and communication. Our objective is to improve the nation’s capacity to make ethical policy judgments about what should be done, and about what should not be done. We intend to expand the thinking that defines the security needs of the United States and of the world. GNSPI is seeking to hire an adjunct Faculty position knowledgeable in global & national security and global public health broadly. Specifically, the successful candidate will teach graduate level global health security courses related to climate, disease, public health, and policies for the Global & National Security Policy Institute.
Qualifications	Minimum Qualifications: The minimum qualifications must be consistent with Higher Learning Commission standards and compliant with the faculty hiring guidelines. -Master's degree in Global Health, Public Health, Population Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Health Sciences or related fields. -One year teaching experience public health topics, Preferred Qualifications: -Doctoral Degree in Global Health, Public Health, Population Health, Epidemiology, Pathobiology, Health Policy, Health Sciences related fields -Experience as a health practitioner or public health advisor -Knowledge and experience in global health security, public health or health trends -Experience working with population health and nutrition or health trends, -Experience in public or private sector -Previous teaching or advising experience of health-related topics -Strong written and oral communication skills.
