What You’ll Be Doing

1. Own New Zealand tax and compliance end‑to‑end — manage IRD filings and deadlines with rigor to avoid penalties, and handle VAT/GST/FBT/BAS as relevant across ANZ.
2. Lead month‑end close and core management reporting (including twice‑monthly forecasts and weekly ACV reporting), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
3. Act as custodian of the General Ledger—accurate postings, robust documentation, and correct account usage.
4. Analyse results critically to understand business impacts and support audit/management reporting and ad hoc analyses (reconciliations, pricing calculations).
5. Drive process improvement—assess and streamline manual, legacy workflows (especially month‑end) in a non‑automated SAP environment.

Who You Are

1. Experienced in-house/corporate accountant (beyond practice/intermediary only), comfortable owning outcomes and working to tight deadlines.
2. Proficient with SAP (our current environment) and/or Microsoft Dynamics; able to think through manual journal postings in less automated ERPs.
3. Advanced Excel user (e.g., SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH/LOOKUPs, Pivot Tables; report automation) with strong analytical and organisational skills.
4. Clear, confident communicator and team player—able to guide junior team members and collaborate across the business.
5. Qualifications: CA/CPA (or equivalent) preferred but not essential—near‑qualified candidates with strong experience are encouraged to apply (we can support completion of qualifications).

Note: Candidates with only MYOB/Xero/QuickBooks experience may find our manual SAP environment challenging. Big 4/intermediary experience plus in‑house experience is a strong plus; Big 4/intermediary only is not sufficient for this role.
