Job Description

Job Title: Powerplant Mechanic

Department:   Powerplant Division

Position Type:   Regular Full Time

Reports to:  Lead Mechanic

 

Position Description:

  • Working with fellow crew members to ensure projects achieve top quality work and milestones are completed on time.
  • Ensuring company and FAA procedures and policies are followed.
  • Ensuring that work productivity is satisfactory.
  • Keeping a clean, safe workplace at all times.  Recommending improvements to increase performance, quality, etc.
  • Ensuring that waste materials, oils, fluids, etc. are handled correctly
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the lead.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must hold at least an FAA Powerplant License.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Must hold a valid US driver’s license 
  • Must be adept and proficient on the use of technical data/manuals.
  • Must be available for flexible hours and weekends
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must have a positive and professional attitude, good leadership skills and work well with others under minimal supervision.
  • Must be a self-motivator and have competent problem-solving skills.

Language Skills:

  • Must have the ability to read, write and understand spoken English.  
  • Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  
  • Must have the ability to understand verbal and written instructions

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed primarily in a shop environment and maintenance setting.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
