POSITION: Special Education Teacher 1.0 FTE

LOCATION:  Nonnewaug High School

START DATE:  ASAP or start of 2026-2027 School Year

DEADLINE:  Until filled

GENERAL DUTIES: 

• Providing direct instruction to special education students across grade levels
• Overseeing para educator staff relative to students on caseload
• Establishing and maintaining frequent communication with parents of students on caseload
• Collaborating with regular educators, related service staff, student service support staff and administrators
• Evaluating students as needed using standards based and curriculum based methods
• Developing and evaluating measurable goals and objectives
• Collecting progress monitoring data
• Coding progress of goals and objectives
• Attend PPTs and assist with conducting functional behavioral assessments and designing behavior intervention plans            

SALARY:  According to Teachers' Contract

QUALIFICATIONS:  CT Certification in Special Education 165

                                  Excellent teaming, collaboration and communication skills
