The Role

Type: Full Time

Contract type: Permanent

Salary $75k - $85k + Bonus

This is a key role in shaping how PureGym delivers world-class fitness experiences at scale across the US. As Equipment Operations Manager, you’ll own the development and delivery of our equipment strategy — ensuring the right equipment is in the right place, at the right time, and performing at its best across a rapidly expanding estate. Working at the heart of our Group Property Development function, you’ll partner closely with equipment suppliers, internal teams and international stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, smarter processes and strong commercial outcomes, while adapting global standards to the realities of the US market and supporting significant future growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build new relationships with key strategic partners in the market, whilst mobilising contracts.
  • Develop fledgling approaches into fully functioning dynamic processes, such as building out key equipment repair models and the associated warranty service contracts.
  • Enable all equipment related aspects of the PureGym pipeline, including robust macro-product forecasting and installation practices.
  • Be a key figurehead in all equipment related escalations, especially those surrounding pipeline projects.
  • Facilitate the ordering of all equipment and budgeting for over 53x Refurbishments, combined with the intelligent spending of well over $10M.
  • Own New Gym standard orders for up to 10x gyms in 2026 and the interlinked ordering + install process.
  • Take keen ownership of all equipment related spending and finances, given the $50M+ we expect to spend over the next 3 years in the USA.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of all equipment assets in line with expected internal standards.
  • Provide training and education to the front line Operations team, such that they know how to use and maintain all the equipment in their gym, and are able to demonstrate appropriate use to members.
  • Using internal and external data to continuously look at ways to improve the member experience, condition, and longevity of our assets across the estate.
  • Liaise with our partners and internal teams to effectively deliver equipment asset BAU processes, such as gym ops maintenance videos and guidance.
  • Manage and update the equipment asset register as per our standard operating process.
  • Build out and maintain a network of equipment traders to ensure best value for extracted assets and support equipment-move phasing activities.
  • Assist with key cross-Group asset and safety initiatives.
  • As required, assist with any other equipment related tasks to ensure delivery of team objectives.

The Person

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload.
  • Can work with and interpret large data sets to provide asset insight and recommendations.
  • Has strong IT capabilities, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Can effectively build and manage relationships with various stakeholders at all levels, across markets including Equipment Suppliers and the wider PureGym team.
  • Motivates and drives high level performance through external and internal parties.
  • Takes ownership for performance and ensures that all targets are met.
  • Displays resilience and is passionate about the role, taking proactive steps whenever possible.
  • Takes a keen interest in fitness equipment, and the providers of that equipment.
  • Has a background in or has a teachable predisposition relating to finance.
  • Is an ambassador of the PureGym values.

A PureGym is proud to be an equal opportunities employer. Our company mantra is ‘Everybody Welcome’ and we are dedicated to promoting a diverse and inclusive place to work. From a hiring standpoint, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to ensuring that our PureGym colleagues reflect the diversity of the nation as well as our millions of gym members we serve.
