Position Summary:
Reports to the maintenance manager. Responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to maintenance in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management & Training Corporation (MTC), and Florida Department of Correction directives.
Essential Functions:
1. Perform varied clerical duties including performing data entry functions.
2. Enter work requests and preventative maintenance information into maintenance management systems.
3. Receive, record, and distribute work orders to maintenance staff as directed by supervisor.
4. Perform duties including typing correspondence, form letters, accountability forms, status reports and other required forms in a timely manner.
5. Maintain files on department records, forms and correspondence sent, received and/or requiring further action.
6. Schedule vendors as directed by supervisor to perform work outside the scope of facility staff.
7. Proofread records or forms; copy needed information from one record to another as required.
8. Request and track merchandise, supplies, parts, and equipment needed for facility maintenance activities.
9. Maintain perpetual inventory control on materials and supplies in appropriate tracking system.
10. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques.
11. Maintain accountability of offenders and property; adhere to safety practices.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year related experience, including word processing or computer data entry experience required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Post Hire Requirements:
Must attain and maintain appropriate facility security clearance. Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
