SUMMARY 

The Medical Records Representative is responsible for maintaining accurate and secure patient medical records while ensuring timely processing of record requests. This role supports patients, attorneys, and providers by handling medical record inquiries, disability and FMLA documentation, and physician review requests. The position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and effective communication across multiple channels. The ideal candidate upholds strict confidentiality standards while contributing to efficient and compliant record management processes.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain patient medical records
  • Process patient and attorney medical record requests
  • Assist patients and co-workers in the office, on the phone and via email & fax regarding patient medical records
  • Prepare return to work and return to school letters
  • Complete Disability and FMLA form requests
  • Process attorney medical records review requests for the physicians
  • Process letter requests from providers
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with company policies and procedures

Requirements

High School or GED degree required

  • Proficiency with computer software applications including Excel and Word
  • Warm and pleasant attitude with a willingness to help physicians and patients
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the necessary hours to get the job done
